Ross Mazur and his wife Marcia Mazur-Gold collaborated as a team since 1971 in their creation of striking sculptural compositions for the wall. They worked together to create pieces of pressed cotton fiber matrix utilizing the process of homemade paper.
The multi-layered textural forms create a three dimensional free-form sculptural painting which have been lavishly embellished with acrylics in an infinite range of color. These constructions are especially well suited for site-specific installations. This unique work can be created in any size, color or configuration.
The ”Celebration of Life” series is a response to the spectrum of color and its effect on the emotions and the psyche. The use of bright primary colors evokes the energy and spirit of life. The “Earth Spirit” series was born out of a deep respect for the Native Americans and the ancient ways. The beautiful terrain of Sedona Arizona, the home of the artist serves as a constant source of inspiration.
This work has been seen on PBS in the series “The Artists Workshop” as well as in galleries and collections throughout the southwest and on the walls of major corporations nationwide.
